Presented by Detroit Charter Company, Detroit’s Premier Sailing & Waterfront Hospitality company, creating world class sailing experiences aboard iconic 70 foot racing yachts while bringing unmatched energy, luxury, and entertainment to the Detroit waterfront.

For the first time, spectators along the Detroit Riverwalk will experience world class sailboat racing directly on the Detroit River, with 70 foot racing yachts maneuvering within full view of the crowd against the backdrop of the city skyline creating a spectator experience unlike anything ever seen in Detroit.

Junior sailing programs from across Detroit will showcase Optimist, 420, and Laser sailboats while introducing youth and families to sailing through hands on displays, life jacket fittings, and information on local junior sailing opportunities.

Adult learn to sail programs from community sailing organizations and yacht clubs will feature 20 foot keelboats on display while providing information on beginner sailing programs, training opportunities, and ways to get involved in sailing locally.

Event Location & Race Course

Located along the Detroit Riverwalk at Port Detroit, the Ambassador Cup places spectators in the center of the action with racing visible between Belle Isle and the Ambassador Bridge. Public access points, nearby parking, rideshare access, and Riverwalk pedestrian connections provide convenient access to the Port Detroit Sailing Village, spectator viewing areas, community outreach displays, and waterfront event activities throughout the weekend.
